Some might suggest that the real story behind the nail prices is who is actually in bed with who. There are those who seem to be getting the better end of the stick, then us pallet manufactures. Maybe there are Nail Manufatures and Brokers who want us all to believe that they are fierce competitors, but really are holding hands, singing "cum-ba-ya" skipping and laughing all the way to the bank.

Kind of reminds me of the diesel fuel thing. The suppliers claim it is just supply and demand. All the while, they are reporting records profits.

I wish that I could get the kind of price increases that nail suppliers and fuel companies have pushed on the market over the last few years.

Manufacturing nails is not rocket science.

If you think prices are being manipulated, why don't the 100 or so contributors to this site form a co-operative, and buy your nails centrally, from China, India, Vietnam etc.. Or maybe just put the squeeze on your current suppliers for a better deal.

I don't know how many million nails you buy or how much the annual spend is? Ordering together, if you will pardon the expression, will give you plenty of CLOUT!

Even the biggest user would benefit.

Usually the biggest problem for ventures like these is finding the up front cash. Still I am sure that's nothing a smart accountant, or hungry supplier, couldn't sort out.
