Today is Tuesday, May 13. This Friday and Saturday, May 16&17, the Richmond Show will be held in Richmond, Virginia at the NASCAR grounds. Just want to tell anybody who is coming that I look forward to seeing you, either at the Pallet Enterprise booth or roaming around to other industry supplier booths.

This will be a landmark show for us. We will have two video crews going around the show filming all kinds of things that may be used in the future on our expanding Webb sites.

At our booth we will be demonstrating our two new online digital versions of the Pallet Enterprise and TimberLine.

Much will be happening. Come by our booth and visit.

If you are not familiar with the Richmond Show, it is the biggest show that has a pallet industry focus. More pallet people come to the Richmond Show (held every other year) than to any other regularly scheduled event in North America, and probably in the world.

Look forward to seeing you.

The Expo was great, but

Attendance was poor, less vendors also . Vendors that I spoke with really would like it to be in Richmond every year.

New Orleans will be a total flop!!!!

KEEP THE EXPO IN RICHMOND EVERY YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been attending the Richmond Show for over 30 years and came away from this year's show with a positive feeling. The show highlights three major parts of the forest products industry, logging, sawmilling, and pallets.
As many readers are aware, the logging industry has been depresssed for way over a year now. With today's activity level, this depressed attitude continues.
THe sawmill industry is way down as well, both hardwoods and softwoods. Thus, it is not surprising to find machinery and service suppliers who are concerned about business levels from the sawmill industry. Thus, some exhibitors may have thought that things were a little slow.
But the pallet industry continues to show wide variations in activity levels. Pallet industry exhibitors at the RIchmond Show generally reported good activity levels. They sold a fair amount of machinery and came away with good lists of potential customers.
There was as much or more new machinery than I expected. We will be talking more about the Richmond Show in the Pallet Profile and July issue of the Pallet Enterprise.
Yes, the number of exhibitors was down, probably some 15-20%. And yes the number of attendees was down as well. But the Richmond Show maintained its image of a good show and showed some of the most positive activity that any forest industry show has shown in several years.
If you have not signed up for our Pallet Enterprise email list to receive information about each month's digital edition of the magazine, call our office at 800/804-0263 and ask for the circulation department.
Was glad to see so many friends in Richmond last week.

The Richmond Show is every two years in May. The Missouri show is off years from the Richmond Show. Next June it is scheduled to move back to Cape Girardeau from St. Charles. I had a reputation at one time of being a decent pallet show but has strugged ever since it came on the heels of 9/11.
The Atlanta Show next year struggles when it comes to pallets. All the other shows tend to be regional and most do not have a major pallet draw.
Sincerely,
