Please also contact your local law enforcement and they should contact the FBI.  There are cases already reported that they can relate your experience too and hopefully get a little closer to prosecuting these guys.

Thank you Pallet Board for your informative posts. I am Betty from skids4kids, We sell pallets to purchase used clothing, furniture, and provide food assistance to families in need.
Well I don't know how this Rev got the idea we had clothing lots for sale but he approached us also. We were looking for a supplier for large bales of clothing and two days later we got the email.
The next day i got an email that said ' Also we need pallets too. Could you send me total costs for everything for payment."

This guy is unbelievable. We are having a hard enough time to find funding for our project as it is and he wants to sell money for us.....

They must have a connection with the phanton shipping company?

Hello! I'm not in the pallet biz, but sell farm equipment.  But doing a google search on a recent customer contact led me to this thread.

I was approached by a Rev DOuglas Kennedy with The Salvation Church in Tucson.  The deal started out normal,  even with a $3000. deposit paid by CC.  But the deal got fishier as it progressed.  There were so many alarms going off in my head, that I got up late one night and started googling every name.  And I found your experiences.  A side note,  we talked to Master Card,  and the CC used was under someone else's name.

Many thanks to the group from East Texas!

To all concerned,

Thank you for your posts on the subject of the scam going around. I am a printing company in Columbus, Ohio who was approached for a large order to be sent to Africa. Nothing out of the ordinary for me, but something didn't feel right. I started google searching and found this forum. A copy of their correspondence follows. I received this email this morning:-

Hello,Am Garry and would like to Order Security Cabins and would like to know the types and sizes you have in stock as well as the prices and the types of credit cards that you take for payment's more over would like it to be shipped to West Africa Ghana.Thank you and waiting...Garry

<garryoffice@yahoo.com> garry hasla

Now, this is the third time we have been contacted by this ring of scammers, the first time we were naive and believed it to be a real order. Went as far as to take money off a credit card that they had supplied the number to, but now its a bit ridiculous.  Last time they contacted me, i made sure to get all the contact details, but I don't know what to do. I am in the UK, so do I report them to the local police or leave it? Do I just keep getting as much info from them as I can until i refuse to confirm the order that they want? Has anyone been conacted more than once by this ring of scammers?

Help.

i got a request for filters to be sent to West Africa, Ghana.  I ask the person to please complete a credit application for our records and he doesn't seem to want to do this.  I already seem skeptical about the order sent to me.  I got a request the same as someone else did.  It was requested by a Rev. Norbit Rice.  He says he is in Minnesota.  I still don't feel right about this.

Follow up to Rev. Norbit Rice:

- Is a character played by Eddie Murphy in the movie Norbit who grew up in an orphanage
- Places big order
- Wants money transferred by Western Union for "shipping" up front to a secondary company who appears legitimate at first glance
- You send money and get taken in credit card scam

The credit card companies actually want you to verify purchases even if you're given what appears to be good credit card info. I spoke with my credit card processing company and they said if the credit card info was entered into your system, you should immediately do a refund and call Visa or Mastercard Fraud & Securities. I was told NOT to contact police by the credit card company, but ... First and foremost call the credit card company if you think something's "not right" with a credit card purchase.

Norbit provided me with credit card info that I told him would not post to my account for 3-4 days after I processed it. That was my buffer in case there was a problem. He mostly emailed, but he did place calls to me. I tried the call back feature but it would not connect. He avoided all my attempts to find out a good phone number for contacting him. I got a partial number (2332434792) from the caller id on a couple of calls. He called daily to see when I would send the money as I strung him along waiting for the credit card investigation team to call (they never have). I finally told him the credit card company declined the purchase and he immediately hung up on me. I haven't heard from him since. Good thing I didn't purchase the materials for his order and/or send him any money.

Looking back I remember the shipping company's email came back really quickly. If they're an international business, my quote would have been last in line. Norbit knew when that email was sent to me because he followed it with a phone call. I thought why would a guy from Minnesota order from me in Ohio and ship it to Africa. After reading through the posts I have a feeling the guy's name is Kelvin Mourison or something close to that. The name may have been said in one of our calls, I don't remember.

Funny how these ****s all use religion to scam. I just got taken by one of them. I printed 50,000 flyers. I called the credit card company and the bank assured me the credit card was valid, so I printed the job. I sent an email to the customer stating that the job was ready for pickup and he wanted me to ship it with one of his shipping companies. The shipping companies he wanted to use only would take Bank Transfers or Western Union for payment and of course the payment could only come from me. Boy do I feel stupid. But I did get the IP address from the emails. Maybe that will help.
