Ed Brindley -> Jack Thornton Passes Away (4/7/2008 4:39:48 PM)

Last week's Pallet Profile carried a lead piece that provided the unfortunate announcement that Jack Thornton passed away on Sunday, March 30. Many Pallet Board readers remember Jack for his positive attitude and friendly manner. The Profile carried more details concerning Jack and the planned memorial service on Saturday, April 19. The Pallet Enterprise will carry more information about Jack and what he meant to our industry in our May issue.

Jack was devoted to the Marines and aviation. It is appropriate that the family requests that donations be direted to the Semper Fi Fund, which provides crucial support for active-duty wounded Marines and their families throughout recovery. Make any checks paybable to Semper Fi Fund. Be sure to enter on the memo line Col. John C. Thornton, and send checks to Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund, MCCCK, P.O. Box 355, Prospect, KY 44059.

See the Profile and Enterprise for additional information on Jack and his life dedicated to the pallet industry.

Sincerely,
Ed Brindley, Ph.D.

So Sorry to hear that, I met Jack back in the 70's when I was just a lad. We still have a few of his machines going today. He used to tell some good stories. He will be missed.
